Welcome to RamonaPringle.com

I'm an interactive media producer, digital reporter, host and actor.

I am a storyteller. I'm always looking for new ways to tell stories, to engage audiences in meaningful ways, and to make people feel. I'm also fascinated by the digital world, and the ethics and possibilities involved in living in the digital age. I'm currently new media faculty at Ryerson University in Toronto, and developing an exciting new transmedia interview project, creating a collaborative "blueprint" for living with technology.

I recently wrapped production on a pilot called "The Real Lives of Avatars" which chronicles the lives of digital citizens and gamers. In the process of developing that project, I started playing World pf Wacrcraft, as a journey to find out for myself what real world wisdom could be learned from online games. Based on that experience, and countless interviews with gamers (and their avatars) I developed the Avatar Secrets to Real Life and Love, which I presented at SXSW and Ignite.

As Interactive Media Producer for PBS FRONTLINE’s Digital Nation I developed their participatory interactive media including “Your Stories,” a portal for user-generated content, featuring stories from real people across North America.

I have developed, directed and edited several immersive installations as Media Director with the PeakMedia Collective, including Ballerina Remix - a multichannel holographic video sculpture installed at the New York Hall of Science; The Media Tree at Casino Niagara - a three storey, 96 screen, synchronized video installation; and Winter Sky - a 24,000 square foot immersive video fresco at Sherway Garden. My work is driven by a fascination with the intersecting roles of director-actor-player and voyeur. I am developing the Paranoia series for multiple platforms, an ongoing exploration of my Master’s thesis research and production - Emotional Perception in the Interactive Cinematic Experience - from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program.

I’m currently collaborating with my mother, artist Michaele Jordana Berman on the transmedia “Cyborg” project, which is comprised of original digital imagery, a book, and narrative video elements.

This summer I hosted the live webcast of Idea City 2011, interviewing the amazing roster of speakers and providing commentary between presentations. As a host and reporter for CBC’s The X, I have interviewed actors, musicians and writers. My work as an actress in film and television includes roles in Shoot ‘Em Up and Model Behavior, and a campaign for Ricola that started it all.

I have a Masters Degree from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and a BFA in Film & Video from York University. I have taught both Directing & Acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
